Manhattan Toy
The grandson of Hollywood studio mogul Samuel Goldwyn, Francis Goldwyn eventually set off for New York. By 1978, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch a plush toy company—including a brightly colored dinosaur carried by Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, F.A.O. Schwartz and MoMA’s gift shop. Francis Goldwyn eventually sold Manhattan Toy; the new owners moved the company to Minneapolis, where it continues to grow. After many years, and many more products, it still includes an assortment of slightly under-stuffed, brightly colored dinosaurs!
