BlaBla
Florence Wetterwald and Susan Pritchett—friends who share the same aesthetic sensibilities and outlook on life—launched Blabla in 2001. Wetterwald, a French artist, studied sculpture and industrial design in Europe and the U.S.; a former stylist, Pritchett established her career in New York and Australia. Their mission: to delight and inspire children with artful, earth-friendly soft toys. During a trip to Peru, Wetterwald and Pritchett discovered villages of expert knitters working with high-grade cotton; the collection is still produced there today. For every doll sold, Blabla plants a tree via its partnership with One Tree Planted®, a nonprofit organization focused on global reforestation. All products are handcrafted in natural fibers; each doll meets safety requirements in the U.S. and Europe, while its yarn is certified as non-toxic. The company has since branched out into rattles, home décor and books.
