When it comes to cribs, sometimes you've got to think small. Not only is the Alma Mini Crib a whole lot smaller than a standard-sized crib, it also folds for storage when not in use -- all without compromising anything in sturdiness or style. Please Note: Due to its European design, the Alma Mini Crib is not compatible with US standard sized crib mattresses and requires the purchase of either a bloom Alma Mini Body-Fit Spring Mattress or Alma Coco Mini Mattress.
Why it's a giggle pick Not everyone can accommodate a full-size crib, and we love the quality and style of this innovative option.

Sure! This organic mattress is made up of coconut husks that are soaked in natural latex for 6 months. This combination provides you with the firmness you are looking for, making it extremely supportive and firm. Keep in mind that it doesn’t have any coils, so it will have a different type of firmness. It feels naturally springy, rather than stiff. What else is so wonderful about the Coco Mat? The natural fibers used make it breathable and allow constant air circulation, so your baby can sleep peacefully. We love this mattress so much, we even sell it for standard-size cribs!

"As a global distributor – and a giggle pick! - bloom is committed to meeting and exceeding the highest safety and other product standards required throughout the world. As a global distributor, bloom typically launches product in the UK and Europe first (specifically EN716 for alma), thereby meeting British and European standards -- which the company considers equal to or more stringent than USA standards. bloom also meets and exceeds the Australia/New Zealand standards (specifically AS/NZS 2195 for alma) – widely considered the toughest in the industry. All bloom products, alma included, meet and exceed ASTM standards (specifically ASTM F406 for alma) required to sell in the USA. In addition to that, bloom is among the first and only companies to have its entire line, including alma, meet the new US CPSIA requirements. At this time, bloom has elected not to also apply for JMPA certification on the alma or any of its globally distributed products.

All of the testing standards mentioned above have specific and extremely rigorous tests for the sleeping platform - alma exceeds all of these tests, including with respect to the folding mechanism employed for convenient storage. Equally tough standards are met and exceeded to regulate the distance between the side of the mattress and the side of the alma crib.

Q:
This crib looks perfect for us, but I am concerned that it was manufactured in China. How do you guarantee that it is lead and formaldehyde free despite its country of origin? Also, is the mattress support board solid wood as well as the frame?

You have nothing to worry about with this crib! Bloom goes above and beyond when it comes to safety. The mattress support board is made of laminated hardwood and the actual frame is solid birch.

Every Bloom product exceeds all applicable safety standards and regulations. They proactively minimize the use of harmful chemicals and processes in their products and manufacturing, and their products are certified compliant with 2009 USA CPSIA requirements.

In addition, Bloom wooden products are free of wood PCP and other toxic wood preservatives, fiberboard (MDF) free, use formaldehyde-free adhesive, low voc finishes and originate from certified sustainable beech and birch wood forests.
