Like a lot of New Yorkers, our child sleeps in the room with us! so we thought this crib would be ideal. It is a very sturdy, mobile crib and you can put it together in about 5 minutes.
We used a cosleeper when our son was 0-2 mo and then graduated to the alma mini.
The problem is: it's not only short, it's narrow. He is 6.5 months and already outgrew it. The length was okay but a baby can't roll over in this crib and that was a deal breaker.
Perhaps if we hadn't co-slept, I would've felt better about this purchase, but considering we only used it for about three months, I regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PS182 Great looking - and great for small spaces.
The Alma Mini Crib is perfect for small spaces and is overall a nice looking piece that blended in perfectly with the rest of our bedroom furniture (we got the espresso color). Our son used this for three months - after that he started rolling over and it was just too small for him. So essentially we used it as a bassinet - which we expected would be the case and were ok with from the beginning. We've since upgraded to the Giggle Harper crib and our son loves that too!

This crib is worth every penny -- we used it as a bassinet when our daughter was an infant and a play yard when she got older. The casters make it mobile and so convenient. I could put my daughter in there, wheel it into the kitchen, prepare meals, then wheel it into her room for naptime. Highly recommended!

We got this crib to keep in our bedroom for our newborn and then to use as a portable crib once he got older. I love the look and how it stores away. However I regret buying it for our bedroom. I would have much preferred to have a co-sleeper while he was a newborn. And while it does fold away nicely, it is very heavy and the mattress and mattress board have to be carried separately. That said, we now keep the crib at my parents' house, which is very helpful. But at the price we paid, I don't believe I would have bought it again. Definitely a great crib for a small space and primary crib.

We purchased the Alma Mini Crib in espresso for our daughter who lives in NYC. Its sleek, modern profile fits perfectly in their apartment. Yes ... It's small. But we knew that and all agree it is the perfect alternative to a bassinet or Moses basket. When their son ... now 5 weeks old ... graduates to a full sized crib, it will fold flat for easy storage. It coordinates beautifully with the Harper Changing Table.

I bought this crib knowing that it wouldn't make it to age 2, but my child is almost 6 months and we need to get something else. The quality is great, but this is just too small now. She wakes up a lot at night because she has maneuvered herself sideways and gets stuck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nessle LOVE the Alma!
This is by far the BEST baby purchase we made, nothing gets used more! My son has been sleeping in it since the day we brought him home and he is now 7 months. As far as size he is 90th % for height and he's still got plenty of room. The best part is we take the crib with us when we travel (by car) - it packs a little bit bigger than a pack & play (although heavier) - so he sleeps in his own bed, no disrupted sleep while traveling! I also love that it tucks away easily when not in use - we just roll it into a nook and it's out of the way. We did not purchase the bumper and never missed it. It did seem pricey for a "bassinet" but it turned out to be so much more, and for us, completely worth every penny!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by hmahajan Only good as bassinet
I bought this crib for my 1 bedroom apartment thinking that I could use it for at least the first year of my daughter's life before we moved to a house. I was wrong. It was great for the first several months, but she is now 5.5 months old and wakes up in the night crying with her body at a diagonal and her head against the side of the crib. There is just not enough room in this very narrow crib for a baby who tries to move around a bit to soothe back to sleep. I had to remove the bumper at 3 months because it took up even more space in this super narrow crib. I would skip it unless you are okay spending $800 (between crib, mattress, sheets, protector etc) on a bassinet. Thankfully I think I will use it for our next child so I can get a little more use out of it. It is just not possible to believe that it would last for 2 years -- maybe only if your infant is a super heavy sleeper and does not tend to move around in their crib.

This is a lovely piece, almost sculpture-like. However, my average-sized seven-month-old is already too big for the crib. Considering it costs about $800 or so when you factor in the mattress protector, sheets and shipping - and considering that most newborns won't initially sleep in a crib - this was by far our most absurd rookie parenting mistake. By the time our baby began sleeping in this crib he had already outgrown it. The suggestion that a two-year old can sleep in this crib is laughable. I do not see how it is possible. Not a two-year old human, anyway.

We love this crib. It is extremely well made and very easy to set up. The only thing I would recommend is to pay attention to the dimensions of the crib. It says a baby up to 50 lbs/2 years will fit in the crib. Our baby is 11 months old and is just about grown out of it. He is tall and big for his size, but I can't imagine many kids will fit in this crib until they are 2 years old. And definitely not 50 lbs (our son is 25 lbs and is almost too big for it). Having said that, we knew the dimensions when we purchased it, so I still give this 5 stars!

Rated 3 out of 5 by eabbott Pretty, but too small for my 10 month old
I like everything about this crib except for one very important aspect: my son outgrew it by about 10 months. Although he is big for his age (and he likes to be able to roll from one side to the other while sleeping), I thought the crib would last at least 18 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dadto2 Perfect for Room-to-Room
I'm an Office Parent. Working from home gives me the opportunity to spend more time with my kids than other working parents, which I love! minus the distractions :) With my first, I didnt have the option of the bloom alma crib and looking back I would have given anything for one.
I now use the alma with my second and find it so useful when using it from room-to-room. Currently we have the crib at night as a co-sleeper at the bassinet level. I wake up early to get some work done before the breakfast/school adventure begins but when it comes time to move my little one, the crib just rolls quietly & gently from bedroom to office (slash nursery). And baby doesnt wake. This is AMAZING and so convenient for not only an OfficeDad but for everyone I imagine.
Lastly, when I have clients over, the baby goes next door and the crib folds up in seconds. literally seconds. I can store this in the cupboard and set it up later in seconds. No Tools!!
This modern crib is a godsend for parents like me who are tight on space, care about the environment and safety of their child - AND are completely hopeless when it comes to the IKEA Instructions Manual :)

I recently purchased the alma crib in cappuccino to use as a co-sleeper in our master bedroom. I would highly recommend this product to all my friends! First of all, let me say how nice it was to receive a product and not have to put anything together!! This crib comes ready to use which is a life saver to our very busy schedules.
At night I wheel it right over to the side of our bed for easy access during those night time feedings. We have been more than happy with the accessibility of the crib as a co sleeper and the convenience of being able to fold and put away. Its a beautiful addition to our room!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by brooklynmom Great for small spaces but not normal sized babies
I am a city apartment dweller and wanted a small space solution. I bought this crib also intending it to last for 24 months.. or even 12 months would have been great. Not a chance! My baby is 11 weeks old and his arms touch the sides already and soon so will his head and feet. I am currently looking to buy another crib. I feel this was a HUGE waste of money.
Pluses: it looks great, the quality is extremely nice, it is compact (too compact) and it folds nicely. However, unless you want to use this as a "bassinet" for the first few weeks, I would choose another crib. Also, the changing table that fits on top is the same size as the crib. It is definitely not at all practical to use on the actual crib...and because of the notches on the bottom side, isn't practical on top of a dresser either. Thumbs down to both items.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mom2ava LOVE THIS CRIB!!
I live in the South..Let’s face it, space is not an issue. Although I am soo in love with this crib as a bassinet!! I have a seven month old little girl, Ava and I initially used this crib when she was a newborn (we still have it set up in our master bedroom). When she was little, it was perfect because I was able to easily wheel the crib out into the family room, kitchen or office so she could still be close by. We have also traveled with it many weekends. Yes, it is a little heavy, but MUCH more comfortable for her than our hard pack n' play mattress. This crib really has it all..its sturdy, looks great, easy to maneuver and just plain "cool" (as my hubby would say). Regarding the 24 month lifespan, Ava is in the 95% on height and weight and still fits perfectly. Two years may be a bit of a stretch, but at seven months..we still have many more nights in it!! Great BUY!

I loved the Alma when I first spotted it at Giggle. It's the only one of its kind, great design, etc. BUT when I got it home, it gave off a terrible odor coming from the paint (white). I had to air it out for weeks before letting my newborn sleep in it. Perhaps too good to be true?

Rated 3 out of 5 by missfitz 24 months!?
My daughter turns 4 months next week. Her arms have easily touched both sides for about a month now, and she looks to be about 2 weeks away from having her head and feet touch both ends! I bought this crib intending to use it until 24 months, as specified, in hopes that she could then move into a toddler bed. Now I'll have to buy another larger crib and am pretty disappointed. I still gave it 3 stars because it is very good looking, but they've got to be kidding!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ACHK Great for a few months
We purchased the Alma crib to use as a bassinet for a few months after our son was born. It was great - sturdy and portable. Since the manufacturer claims that it can be used for two years we thought that once our son was sleeping in his own crib we could take it to our weekend house. However, there is no way you could have a two year old sleep in this! At four months our son's hands stuck out either side Alma crib and as soon as he learned how to roll he would get stuck in various uncomfortable positions throughout the night. If you are interested in the Alba crib as a large bassinet I would definitely recommend it. But don't plan to use it past 6 months.

lOVE THIS CRIB! We have the green one. My son is in 95th percentile in terms of length/height and 6mo old now. We've used this crib and love it. We only use it for sleeping and he hangs out in it for 45min in morning entertained with a mobile while we prepare for work. We have no complaints. It's a versatile option to the bassinet. I chose it because it's easy to store and because it's well constructed. Many of the min cribs I researched are made of cheap beech wood which doesn't last. The Alma is very stable and sturdy well made! LOVE our Alma.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MPC Great for newborns...but only newborns.
As one-bedroom-apartment dwellers, my husband and I were so relieved to discover this crib last summer, and it has been a savior since our son arrived last fall. Sleek, impossibly compact, and stylish, it sits at the foot of our bed and gave us easy access to the baby during those critical first weeks, while seamlessly blending in with the rest of our room. I dare say, it's absolutely perfect for newborns. That said, prospective buyers should really think of this more as a chic, modern co-sleeper than a crib that can sleep a baby of up to 24 months (as the manufacturer claims). I mean, our son has been able to reach both sides of the crib fingertip-to-fingertip while lying in the middle of the bed since he was just shy of three months old. At five months, he's still sleeping in this crib (as we search for a two-bedroom place...), but I'm really not sure how much longer I can keep him in it safely now that he's learned to roll over. He's constantly wedging himself into the sides in his sleep (ouch), getting his feet caught in the rails because he has no room to shimmy around, and the space limitations are getting visibly frustrating for him if he's ever left awake in there. As I said, it really is the perfect thing for newborns and I would buy it all over again if given the choice, but I have to say, it's sort of pricey for a bed that's a stretch at five-months (much less two years!).

We live in a lovely, but small, space and needed a crib that wouldn't take up vast amounts of room - the Alma crib fit the bill.
It's incredibly easy to set up and the optional wheels are a major bonus. The whole thing is very sturdy and well-made, as well as fitting in with the rest of our contemporary decor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MSaraniero Great alternate crib!
This crib is all it's cracked up to be! Absolutely perfect. It's light and small but very sturdy like a full size crib. Yet it folds up to put away when not in use. Perfect for grandma's, a second home or if you Nanny-Share, perfect second crib.
I would not use this as your only crib only because it IS too small - your child will not really be able to sleep in there past 1.5 yrs.

My parents bought this for us as a gift, knowing we were converting our walk-in closet to a nursery. It is perfect! We have tried it with our friend's 18 month old, and he fits fine (although was a little put off because he was used to a larger crib). It is a great crib for a small space, goes up in seconds, and is very sturdy. We are looking forward to using it with our little one!!!

We've had the crib for about 2 months. This crib is a great size, the width is about the same as your average dresser, so it can fit along a wall very nicely. It's just as good looking as it appears on the website. I have no complaints about this crib.
