BEST BASICS: These are the tried-and-true necessities that every new parent needs, such as burp cloths and baby bottles, plus some of those things that just make parenting a little simpler. Most of them are considered must-haves, and the rest will make your life so much easier they'll be a no-brainer. In this category, we look for convenience and functionality above all else.BEST BASICS: everyday baby essentials
MULTI-USE: Everyone wants to get the most for their money, but that doesn't always translate to the lowest price. Sometimes it means choosing one great product instead of buying multiple products over time. These products last longer and do more - whether they grow with your baby, live on beyond the baby years, or can be used for more than one purpose - so that you can always feel confident that you made a great investment.MULTI-USE: versatile & long-lasting
HEALTHY: Every parent's number-one goal is a healthy baby, and babies' developing systems are a lot more sensitive than adults. That's why we work hard to find products that won't introduce any more toxins than necessary into your home. Sometimes that means organic products that avoid pesticides and chemicals, but it also includes things like nontoxic cleaning products made from plant-based ingredients, or plastics without toxins likes BPA or phthalates.HEALTHY: made with safe or organic materials
INNOVATIVE: These products are just plain smart, whether it's a new twist on an old product, a smart, modern design, or a fresh idea that's altogether new. We're always on the hunt for the latest innovations in parenting — and that includes cool, new products that adapt the latest in technology to help the newest entrants in the world of parenting.INNOVATIVE: smart products that do more
SPACE-SAVING: Let's face it: Babies take up a lot of room. These space-saving essentials help make sure there's still enough room for everyone after the baby comes. Maybe they have a smaller footprint, or maybe they're easy to put away when you're not using them, but either way they're a whole lot easier than finding a bigger house!SPACE-SAVING: compact & easy to store
RESPONSIBLE: What's good for the world is good for our children. We put a special emphasis on environmentally friendly, "green" products that are made with nontoxic, recycled and sustainable materials. We also love products that help the communities where they're made, or that go the extra mile to support charitable causes. Plus, we love "local"!RESPONSIBLE: eco-friendly or locally produced

Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the money Could not be happier! The design is awesome, we love that it is wood and not a huge heap of plastic. It's really nice to have baby pulled up to the table with us... I think it sets the precedent. March 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent We started using this high chair recently and my daughter who is 5 1/2 months loves it. It was easy to assemble and the baby set & pad is also easy to affix to the chair. I feel it is well made and very sturdy. The nice thing about this seat is that we can use it later for an adult sized person. March 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Expensive but worth every penny This was one of the more expensive purchases we made for our baby but worth every penny. - the chair grows with your child so you can use it until your child is an adult - small footprint, doesn't take up a lot of space like other high chairs - wood blends right in with the adult furniture - easy to clean, no crevices or fabric to have to remove food from - foot rest provides a comfortable seat for your child - for a baby, the baby rail is a must (but extra cushion is not necessary.) Rated 4 out of 5 by Sleek Space Saver with a few minor drawbacks Before purchasing the Stokke Tripp Trapp, I did a LOT of research on this chair and others. I would absolutely recommend the Stokke Tripp Trapp, but there are a few things parents should know before purchasing to make sure this chair is right for you. So for starters, here are the *PROS*: 1) This chair looks amazing...everyone that enters our house overlooks it at first b/c it blends so nicely with our kitchen table (AWESOME FEATURE!), but then freaks out when they do notice it. I'm talking parents and non-parents...everyone that sees it loves this chair...it's really sharp looking! 2) Space-saver. The Tripp Trapp is narrow and doesn't take up too much room and slides right up to the table. 3) Doesn't scream "baby" like so many baby products. In a smaller place, there are only so many baby things you can tolerate that smack of normal baby bright colored baby items. My husband and I think this chair is really cool for a baby thing, beyond it's supreme functionality. 4) It also grows with your child, negating the need to buy a booster seat later. 5) Eco-friendly/Non-toxic! This was my absolute most important feature since my children will spend so much time in their highchairs and booster chairs. There aren't a lot of non-toxic (or at least obviously labeled) high chairs on the market. 6) Comes in lots of colors, so there's something for everyone. Ok, now the *CONS*: 1) A bit pricey, but I would definitely say it's worth it. My 3 major factors for saying it's worth the money being the non-toxic materials, the functionality, and the fact that it isn't a giant plastic monstrosity. :) 2) You have to buy the chair and the infant seat separately. (You can find them sold together, but not always.) Also, if you want to buy a padded cushion for easier washability, you have to buy that separately as well...this really adds up. 3) For a non-toxic chair, I wish the seat covers came in organic cotton. 4) There is a tipping hazard with this chair in certain circumstances (search for online videos if you want to see for yourself via parent testimonials). However, Stokke includes leg extenders as part of your purchase that is supposed to negate this hazard, just makes the length of the chair a bit longer. 5) No tray option from Stokke. Again, a bummer. The thought behind this is that a child develops best socially when pulled up to the family table instead of off to the side by themselves. Great in concept, not as great in functionality. You can buy a separate tray sold by another company...for an addition hundred bucks. 6) Some parents have had a hard time getting their children in the infant seat. I can see how this could be a slight problem for some families, but it's not a problem for our family. So, overall, despite the negatives, I would choose the Tripp Trapp again and again. But I will be getting the play tray for it separately. We've used it without the tray for 6 months and our family really needs the tray. I highly recommend this if you have a round shaped table. However, since there are some significant negatives that might make this chair less than ideal for some families, I'm only giving it 4 stars. We love the chair! March 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by part of the home, part of the family i love this chair because - unlike a lot of other children's products - it blends in with the rest of the house. it is a completely functional high chair, but it isn't horrible plastic or huge and bulky. it is beautiful and comfortable and functional. i have two and i hope to have them for the next 20 years or more. and now that they sell the tray with the chair, it is even better (otherwise, you need a table for the chair to work as a highchair) March 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great chair to grow in This has been a great chair for our now 2 plus year old. We started with the extra smaller child addition to be able to have him sit in it while he was small- starting around 6 months. And now he does great in it without any extra security. Plus it looks great! March 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by A Chair Affair to Remember! Over the 12 years I've owned Tripp Trapp it's been: 1. A high chair 2. Office chair 3. Booster chair 4. Step-stool 5. Extra adult dining seating 6. Extra movie-night seating 7. A giraffe (someone has an imagination!) 8. Emergency end-table 9. Unused, and beautifully nested next to my Eames dining chairs. Practical utility enhanced with beautiful design and the ultimate in longevity. Need I say more? The affair continues... February 7, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Trendy Trendy, functional, durable, versatile, and doesn't make you close your eyes and run like the plastic high chairs out there! Just simply great! April 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best high chair that will last for years Being practical I prefer to buy quality items that will last for years: good leather shoes, bags, jackets. This chair fits similar profile: I expect it to last. March 31, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant. Really, what else is there to say? Stylish, functional, great colours....... March 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best! Love the versitility of the chair and age range it can be used for. March 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Look No Further - The Tripp Trapp is PERFECT! Ok, I'll admit it - I love ALL things STOKKE...that being said, I have owned other 'high end' high chairs, and they don't hold a candle to the Tripp Trapp! There's a reason why Stokke has been selling the Tripp Trapp for so many years - it works for both child and parent. Your child shares the family meal right where they belong - at the table! The Tripp Trapp is more than just a high chair - it is a beautiful quality piece of furniture. We use both of ours (yes, we have two - they are that great) many times throughout the day. With just a quick turn of a screw it's quite easy to customize the chair to fit your child as he or she grows - ensuring you will get many years of use out of this chair - try doing that with a run of the mill high chair. There's no PVC or plastic so no health worries here, and to top it all off - clean up is a breeze - Just a quick wipe down, and the Tripp Trapp shines like the top of the Chrysler Building! Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful My sister had the tripp trapp for her 4 children and I loved that it kept the little ones at table height, feet not dangling and engaged in the meal. It made dinner hour at her home delightful. I hope to have the same with my children using the TT. March 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by The only chair you'll need, worth EVERY PENNY! We have 2 Tripp Trapp Chairs, with accessories, and Table Tops. These products are BY FAR the best products we have for our kids due to their functionality, sustainability and all around perfectness! The Tripp Trapp is so much more than a high chair, its a concept...a new way of looking at mealtimes with your children. My kids love being able to get up and down off of them by themselves, and we love having them AT THE TABLE with us for mealtimes. It creates a special family environment that traditional highchairs "off in the corner" don't offer. Our Tripp Trapps have grown with each of our boys. They adjust very easily (even I, their TOTALLY unhandy mom) can do it! It adjusts to CUSTOM FIT your child through each stage of growth enabling comfortable, correct ergonomic sitting. The high quality of the Tripp Trapp ensures a lifetime of use...and beyond! And the functionality ensures that they actually WILL use them for a lifetime. From a high chair, to a desk chair, or whatever, this chair really has a purpose throughout their lives. I look forward to my kids passing them onto their kids. Since the Tripp Trapp chair is lighweight, my kids can easily move theirs around the kitchen. They serve as stepstools to reach the sink and wash hands, or be at the counter with me to "help" cook. I can also use it as a stepstool since it holds up to 300lbs! And of course, these chairs are SO MUCH more esthetically pleasing than anything else. They are compact so they don't create a bulky eyesore in your house, and pull up to your family dinner table perfectly. I highly recommend these to everyone...we will surely be buying another with our 3rd child on the way!! March 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks great in small dining room! My husband and I have been very impressed by the Tripp Trapp. It takes up a lot less room in our small dining room than our old traditional high chair did. It slides right up to the table so no need for a high chair sitting in the corner of the room. I've noticed a significant difference in my son's posture since we started using this chair. It's excellent for his core muscle strength! I initially thought I would miss having a tray however, I quickly became used to the no tray concept and now I love not having one. Family dinners feel closer with him sitting at the table. March 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by From Soup to Nuts In other words the only high chair you'll ever need. You'll need the baby set if you want to use it with a little one but it's a really great chair that really grows and adjusts with your child. It's a great thing to have around. There are even some who say just being able to put your feet flat on something is good overall for aid in eating... I know when I was younger and had to sit at the table with my feet dangling (I hit my growth spurt late in my teens), something just didn't feel right. Glad that there's a great product, like this, for our lil' one. March 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by My mother still using my Tripp Trapp I grew up sitting on a Tripp Trapp at the family table and my mother still uses it. I'm about to turn 36 so that shows you how long these amazing chairs last. We have one now for our family and we love it. I love that both my 5 year old and 16 month old can use it as well as any age child who visits us. March 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tripp Trapp Chair Trendy looking chair. Not the typical eye-sore you find at most other places. Baby hasn't used it yet but looks to be very sturdy and safe. Looks great with the black set and black dots cushion. Unfortunately giggle doesn't care the black dots cushion so we had to get that elsewhere. March 15, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by better for older kids than babies this is a very well-designed chair, and i love the way it works for a long period of time, but when we tried our son in it, both at 8 months and lately at 15 months, he was really unsteady in it and seemed constantly to be almost falling off. the harness is very difficult to fasten and complicated. if you are thinking about getting this chair, i recommend trying it first! March 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love love love it, for years to come! This is a great chair! What I love best about it is that your little munchkin sits at the dinner table with you, not to the side of the family. It's very sturdy and holds up to my rambunctious 3 year old. I'll be getting another for my 1 month old when it's time for solids. March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by very sturdy We love our Trip Trap high chair. It is not only fashionable, but practical too. When the baby is done with it, it can convert to a real chair. By the way did I mention that it is sturdy, I am not worried about the chair tipping over when my baby is in it. I would highly recommend. March 10, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love our Tripp Trapp! We love our Tripp Trapp high chair. Family and social dining is important to us and this chair allows our daughter to be an important part of our family meals. I believe it has encouraged her to enjoy social dining and at 18 months she is a great eater when we are out at restaurants with friends. She'll sit happily in her chair or on our laps for an entire meal eating away with a big smile on her face. The only thing I don't like is the safety add on with the leather strap. It gets a bit dirty, isn't as easy to clear and will probably wear more quickly than the rest of the chair. I think this has been solved in newer versions with a plastic bar instead of leather strap. March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Marvelous! I love this chair. My 18 month old son can climb in and out safely and easily. He can sit at the table and eat supper easily. I've used it at different tables and the seat is easily adjustable with an allen wrench. My three year old niece is still enjoying hers as well. March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by great highchair! I recently purchased this hi-chair for my 4 yr old & LOVE it. It's sturdy, pulls directly underneath the table, adjustable for my 4 yr old or my 2 yr old, & it looks great. I love it so much I'm purchasing another one for my 2 yr. old. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth the money & grows with your children. Don't ponder on it, just buy it & trust me, you'll love it too! March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Still in love after 35 years My parents had a Tripp Trapp for me when I was little- it grew with me and even now we tend to fight over who gets to sit in that chair when we home. Such a great chair- I was so excited to buy one for my daughter as soon as she was old enough. Can't say enough good things about this chair! March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Chair!! I LOVE this chair!! I got it in green and it looks great.... so much better than the big ugly plastic chairs. I also use the pad and baby seat...works perfectly:-) March 10, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Solution Our daughter starting using this chair at 18 months and she is 4 1/2 right now. We LOVE this chair! It is the perfect height for any table. It can be adjusted. It has a safety belt. Very easy to clean. The painted color (red) still looks as vibrant as day one! This chairs allows our daughter to eat with us at the table allowing us to be more like a family. March 10, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by fabulous high chair First of all this is a great space saver for any NYC apt. It fits neatly up against a table and I love that it teaches toddlers to eat at the table. It is relatively easy to clean and easy to adjust to and with your growing child. My only complaint, is that this chair needs rubber stoppers, as my daughter loves to push herself away from the table when she is done eating. But if you live if a small apt and don't want a giant high chair in the middle of your home, this is the one to get! March 10, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by nice to look at It's nice to look at but not very functional. It's very uncomfortable and the sharp corners not very safe. March 10, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by I wish I liked it better I have a love-hate relationship with this highchair. I'm motivated to write a review after seeing so many glowing reviews. We received this as a shower gift. All of my girlfriends recommended it, and in the past I have gone in on the cost of one for a shower present (they ARE pricey!) What I love: -We live in Manhattan, so keeping the Stokke pulled up to the dining room chair, as if it was part of our dining set, has been awesome. It's slim and fits in and we love it. Anyone who visits us comments "wow, you don't have a highchair" and they are amazed when we show them the Stokke. -Our son has been able to sit in it and at our table with us while we eat since he was four months old. The infant insert held him in and we loved that he was learning to be social at the table, even if he just played with toys. -That is grows with the child. He no longer sits with the insert. And the many levels on it means it will really grow with him. Very cool feature that I guess makes up for the cost. What I hate: -The infant insert is tight for chubby little legs. I never felt too comfortable pulling him in and out. Maybe just my experience with it. -The padded cover is material that is not protected with anything, so it gets very messy and needs to be washed all the time. It gets pretty gross after a week of spot-cleaning. And it's a pain in the butt to pull on and off the seat because of the straps. -The straps are wacky. The clip to hold them together will make you crazy, it's not easy to weave the straps through. -My son likes to push himself away from the table a bit, which means a lot of food gets on the floor. Good luck keeping your kid up to the table. So I discovered that Stokke sells a tray that you can put on the seat, for another $90. As if this seat didn't already cost enough. I'm still unsure if I'm going to buy the tray. Bottom line: I would not buy this highchair again and I do not recommend it. It comes with too many headaches. In contrast, we have a Phil & Ted's MeToo chair that we use for traveling, restaurants, etc., and I really wish we just used that at home, it also takes up no space and pushing away from the table isn't a problem. Good luck. August 16, 2010
