Q:I have a City Mini single and am looking for a travel bag. I noticed the question regarding the wheels for the City Mini single travel bag, where you stated that it is required to take the wheels off the stroller in order to fit in the bag. If I put my City Mini single stroller in a City Mini double travel bag, would I still have to remove the wheels? I am looking for a fast way to remove my stroller from the travel bag and use it immediately as I will be traveling with my baby by myself. Having to take the wheels off and on will be difficult whether I'm carrying the baby in my arms or in the baby carrier.
Or can you recommend a stroller travel bag that will fit the City Mini without having to remove the wheels?
A:The recommendation to remove a stroller's wheels prior to loading a stroller into a travel bag is to prevent the stroller's axel from being bent. If you're traveling by air, and are checking your stroller either through baggage, or at the plane's gate, your stroller in the bag will be subject to knocks and drops that could potentially damage your wheels and axels. You may purchase a larger stroller bag to accommodate your stroller with the wheels, however you'll notice that the instruction to remove the wheels will be consistent.
If you're traveling by yourself with your infant, giggle recommends keeping your infant front/backpack carrier handy for a "hands-free" boarding and deplaning, which will also make it easier to snap-off and snap-on your stroller's wheels.
Q:Is this bag sturdy or will it get beat-up when checking in at the airport (compared to the Bugaboo travel bag)? Also, can I carry-on this bag onto the airplane?
A:This bag is sturdy enough for airport travel, but it doesn’t have that great thick lining like the BugabooTravel Bag, so it's not as protective. It’s always best to check with your airline to see what the weight capacity of a carry-on bag is; it differs from airline to airline.
