the giggle criteria: We've narrowed down the choices by picking only the best products out there. In other words: if we sell it, we love it, and we think you will, too! Each year, we talk to tons of parents to find out what's most important to them when it comes to baby and kids products. The result? Every product we offer goes through a rigorous selection process and must meet at least three of the following criteria to be included in our assortment:
Dimensions--Bag: 31" x 17" x 5" Bed 30" x 15" x 13" ---Storage 10 gallons
AgeNewborn - 9 Months or Up to 20 lbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pepper Awesome product - for first 5-6 months Love, love, love this ... for the first five months. It's super light-weight, easy to assemble and carry, stores anywhere (under sofa, back of door), packs at least a week's worth of diapers and clothes without blinking, comes with mesh roof. Getting four instead of five stars because of how quickly my 16lb, 6mo-old daughter outgrew it (she started moving too much, might work better if you have a heavy, deep sleeper) - which, in truth, we had anticipated based on prior reviews. We are now in the market for something new and underwhelmed by the choices after having used this. November 22, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Greta Why aren't there wheels or a shoulder strap? I think this bed is fantastic except for when you fill the bag with stuff, it gets very heavy! I'm not sure how the other reviewers found it light. So, dealing with this bag that has no wheels or even a shoulder strap becomes rather cumbersome when you also have your own luggage and a car seat/stroller, etc. You get the picture. Except for this major flaw, it's a great product. November 16, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by schiff77 Great if your baby doesn't move I loved this bed for about three months, but as soon as our baby started rolling in her sleep forget it. I can't imagine how this bed can make it to nine months. The bag part is great, I wish it would have worked longer, in theory it seems like the perfect travel solution. September 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by designchica travelling made simple! We love the nest! It was light enough to carry on the plane, easy to set up, and fit our 5 month old perfectly! I love that it's not bulky, it can store under the bed when not in use or that it's stylish enough to store my son's toys in his room! I wish phil & ted came out with this nifty bed earlier! We're ready to take it on our next trip to Hawaii. Hopefully the mesh section will keep the mosquitos away! May 12, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by kate Bassinet + Suitcase = My Perfect Travel Accessory A perfect product for traveling with an infant! The bassinet is comfy for my little one and sets up in mere seconds. And I love that it stores easily in the zippered carrying bag. But even better, flip the carrying bag over and the generous-sized top compartment can easily fit a week's worth of clothes and diapers. I've used it on weekend camping trips and visits to my in-laws. I only wish this product had come out sooner! My son just passed 8 months and won't be able to use it much longer, but for new parents this is a great choice for simplifying traveling with a baby. April 7, 2011

Can we take this item as a carry-on on an airplane? I realize each airline have different rules regarding carry-on items, but in general terms, is this next too large to even be considered as a carry-on item or is it truly compact?
A:We definitely recommend checking with your airline about carrying-on gear and equipment. Phil & Teds Nest Bed measures 31" x 17" x 5" when it's used as a travel bag, and zippers-open into a bed that measures 30" x 15" x 13", so it' a bit more compact when it's in "bag" mode vs. "bed" mode. We think it's truly compact, and its versatility gives you extra functionality for your money!
Q:Hi, We will be flying across the country to stay with my parents for 2-3 weeks when the baby is approximately 2 months old. Is it safe to use the Nest Bed as the bassinet/crib for the duration of our stay or would it be better to use a pack n play? Thanks.
A:Phil & Ted's Nest Bed is tested for use up to either 9 months or 20lbs, however, because infant developtment rates will vary with every baby (afterall, every baby is unique!), your baby may outgrow Nest a little bit earlier than the maximum tested age/weight.
A rule of thumb that parent's can use, and that giggle recommends, for moses baskets, bassinets, cradles, and even the top position for crib mattresses is that when your infant begins showing active signs of movement, you should discontinue using your smaller bed, and transition to a travel crib/play yard and/or lower your crib mattress height.
Because different babies begin showing active signs of movement at different ages-and-stages, every product's usable life will vary from the product's "tested" life for every baby.
Q:Would the Mountain Buggy Nest Bed work for twins? We are traveling this summer and they are still both tiny and sharing a crib so this seemed to be a good choice but I wasn't sure about the fit? They are both 6 lbs so they would be well under the weight limit.
A:Phil & Ted's Nest Bed has been tested and approved for use with a single child who is younger than 9 months old, and weighs less than 20lbs.
If you're traveling with twins, consider investing in two Nests -- not only is Nest a versatile travel bed, but it can also be used at home as a moses basket, and it acts as a travel bag, giving you extra functionality for your money. With one for each baby you'll have convenient portability at home and on-the-go, plus twice the room to pack baby's travel essentials!
Q:Does the Nest have a mattress? Is it safe to have the baby in the Nest on the floor? In the crib?
A:Perfect for family travel, and indoor and outdoor use, the Nest from Phil & Teds pops open and folds flat, and can even be used to pack baby's things. The included firm mattress offers comfort and support, and the strong and sturdy base of the nest is perforated both for added ventilation, and to avoid moisture build up. The Nest can be safely used on the floor, or you can place it in a crib to raise baby up off the floor. It’s the perfect way to keep a newborn on-the-go AND comfortable!
