I got this as a registry gift. It's cute, not super big as other reviewers stated, so limited use period. Rolls up pretty compactly so you can take along. Not as thick as i thought it'd be, which is fine. However my gripe is it is NOT 100% ORGANIC COTTON as stated. The label sewn on to the mat only lists 100% polyester fill, all new materials. It doesn't even say organic cotton on the actual item anywhere! When something is made in China, it makes you wonder how honest they are being about that. You can get an entire activity gym for half the price of this if you're not going organic, so just the outer fabric being "organic" - not sure the value's there. And even though it came packaged in a canvas carry case (a nice bonus), the whole thing has that signature chemical smell that makes me question what materials it was made with or how they were processed. Truly organic items do not have that smell! Especially the toys that baby will put in mouth have poly fill which bothers me because then they're sucking on chemicals, what I was trying to avoid. The mirror part is super cheap and so distorted, not appealing. Now the mat's been marked down and is an additional 20% off so it's more reasonable and may be worth it, but upset how much was spent at full price plus shipping for a misrepresented product. That money could have bought a lot more.

Pros - organic/healthy for baby, cute design, great pillow for tummy time, easy machine wash and dry
Cons - pretty small for a playmat so it won't grow w/ child or be useful for very long, the "activities" are limited w/ the mirror and a couple subtle crinkle sounds and the attached toys are nice but the strings got pulled straight very quickly (they are supposed to be like an accordion)
All in all, I might buy for a newborn again as a playmat because it is healthy/non-toxic, but for us personally, it barely got any use and my son never really took an interest in any of it. As a result, you may be better off buying a larger organic blanket and a few organic toys for the cost of this item.

I adore this portable mat and get asked about it by many parents, teachers and caregivers who have never seen anything like it. I tote my 4 month old daughter everywhere and have us signed up for classes or meet ups with other moms and babies nearly every day of the week. This mat is a godsend. I can stuff it underneath my stroller or swing the shoulder strap of the cover across my chest so that the whole light-weight mat is carried on my back, and away we go! Instead of placing the baby on a blanket on a hard floor during music class, for example, we use this mat - it's very cushy, takes up less space than a big blanket and comes with the toys and pillow to practice extra good tummy time. No, it doesn't replace one of the bigger play gyms out there. We have the bigger type of gym at home (with the hanging overhead toys, etc.). However, there's nothing like this for taking around to other people's homes, grandma's house, classes etc. I love that it's organic, has non-garish colors and is easily washable. The cover is a great plus too. The mat easily rolls up and binds via a velcro strap and stuffs into the carry cover easily. This is one of my all time favorite purchases!

Rated 3 out of 5 Lovely but not necessary
I registered for this and loved it when I received it as a gift. It is very soft and sweet and easy on the eyes compared to most tacky activity mats. But I ended up not using it very much. Tummy time can be on a blanket or sofa or your tummy. And when you need a quiet moment, the dangly stuff on the activity mat is better at holding baby's attention. Makes a nice gift, but not a baby must-have.

Love this. It is extremely soft and is what i would want to lay on if I were a baby. I wish there were an option for overhead mobile type things to hang down onto it like other play mats, but the softness and adorableness makes up for (not to mention the healthy aspects of the materials and lack of plastic).
