Quite impressively engineered -- the instant one-handed set-up of this crib is a great party trick; it literally just pops open like magic. Folding it (correctly, so the legs are aligned right, since we're quite type a) takes a little practice but is totally doable once you learn the fold... overall it's amazing that something this sturdy packs into such a small, light, portable package. We've flown with it twice and it fits easily in the overhead bin of a plane (like a rolling suitcase would) perfectly with room to spare. At 9 months pregnant I can carry it myself and fold/unfold it easily. It's way better than a pack-n-play because it essentially sits directly on the floor, so there are no awkward bars digging into baby's back -- seems more healthful for sleeping to me. Also, this means there is no weight limit. I've actually climbed in to try it out. The Baby Bjorn sheets are a little pricy but fit perfectly and are super soft (we just store them right inside the nice carrying case along with the crib when not in use so we always have them). A couple of slightly awkward things: you essentially have to do a toe-touch to put baby in and out of this (because mattress is floor-level) so laying a heavier sleeping baby down is a little tough. Also, because the bottom footprint is wider than the top railings (which does make it more stable) you have to be careful not to trip over the legs or stub your toes. We're using this as travel crib, pack-n-play, co-sleeper... it's an absolute essential, and totally worth the price (esp. if you use it to replace pack-n-play). It's one of the most high-quality baby items I've ever seen; if the general plastic crappiness of most pack-n-plays and other baby gear turns you off, you'll be most pleasantly surprised by this travel crib.

Rated 5 out of 5 Useful
So far so good. Have taken it to my sister's and my mother's. About to travel abroad to Europe with it for the holidays and may update my review after. The baby sleeps well in it. It opens and closes super easy and is like a very large brief case to carry - so that is all very good. When it is open the legs stick out a little and we have stubbed our toes on it a million times - so watch out. Also, you could really strain your back lowering your child down into it so be careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 lightweight and easy!
We have loved our BB Travel Lite. It's so lite and takes up much less space than a normal pack/play. It's a cinch to set up and fold up. A great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by kimberleyC Best travel crib on the market
This is hands down the best travel crib on the market - it's extremely lightweight, literally takes 10 seconds to open, and about 30 to close, and it is VERY sturdy. It also seems to be excellent quality. We use this all the time as we keep it at my parents house for when our daughter spends time with them. This will be extremely easy to travel with at the airport and will be the only travel crib we will ever buy. I couldn't be happier with it! I only wish they had the black color when I bought mine! Also, make sure to buy the organic crib sheet that is made by Baby Bjorn for this crib. It fits perfectly and is SO SO SOFT!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by CHillMom Best travel crib
Our family loves this crib. Compact, comfortable, durable. My reason for 4 stars and not 5, is that it does not come with a sheet. Most mini-crib sheets are just small enough for this mattress to make the sides pop up. Overall, a fantastic crib that has held up through two kids, and counting.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LMarie Life saver!
We bought this travel crib since most of our family lives out of state and we tend to travel a lot for visits. The crib is incredibly lightweight, easy to transport, and durable in it's own suitcase-size travel bag. It fits in the back of the car, or can be checked at the airport with ease. What we didn't anticipate was how useful it would be at home as well! Since we live in an open loft space, sometimes we just have to set up the crib in the bathroom or our back bedroom so our son can have some peace and quiet. It literally sets up in seconds, so it's not a pain at all to move it around, and is actually a life saver to have on hand. Best of all, it seems much more comfortable, sturdy and durable than the traditional pack n plays. In comparison I tried carrying a pack n play, and setting it up - it was much heavier and more cumbersome to assemble. As a side note - the Bjorn organic sheet that goes with the mattress is incredibly soft and comfy for your little one!

We love the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light as a travel crib/playard option for the following reasons:1) The stable design keeps the crib firmly on the floor so you don’t have to worry about tipping, and, as a result, Travel Crib Light 2 has a maximum height limit of 35", but no maximum weight limit.
2) Insulated, formaldahyde-free mattress with a water-repellent, breathable mattress cover for the most comfortable, healthy sleep for baby (100% organic cotton fitted sheets sold separately). And, measuring 24"W x 41"L, it's perfect for kids who are taller.
3) Soft fabric-covered edges make it cozy for your child, and all fabric parts have been approved through the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
4) Lightweight (just 11lbs) and easy for anybody to fold and carry (one-step set-up, and comes with a carrying case).

I just wanted to know how come there aren't a wide selection of pack and play options.... is it not recommended?Answers
A:Â
At giggle, we offer a best of/edited assortment. In other words, we carry a limited number of options in any category to help make choices less overwhelming for our parents! While "Pack 'n Play" is a specific term for Graco playards, people often use it in reference to travel cribs, which are similar in style. That being said, there are tons of options out there! Pack 'n Plays are awesome, but we love the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib Light as a travel crib/playard option for the following reasons:
1) Lightweight (just 11lbs) and easy for anybody to fold and carry (one-step set-up, and comes with a carrying case).
2) Stable design keeps the crib firmly on the floor so you don’t have to worry about tipping.
3) Soft fabric-covered edges make it cozy for your child, and all fabric parts have been approved through the Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
4) Insulated, formaldahyde-free mattress with a water-repellent, breathable mattress cover for the most comfortable, healthy sleep for baby (100% organic cotton fitted sheets sold separately)
Hope that helps understand why the Travel Crib Light is our "best of" pick for a playard!
Q:Â
We're expecting our first child at the end of June. I'm debating whether to buy the Baby Bjorn Travel Crib or the KidCo PeaPod (I believe some of the PeaPod models accommodate kids up to 3 yrs old, just like the Travel Crib). We don't expect to do a ton of traveling in our son's first year or two, but most of the traveling we do will likely be by air, which seems to make the PeaPod a better choice. The PeaPod also offers shade and bug protection if we wanted to take it to the park or the beach. That said, I could see the Travel Crib being useful as a playpen substitute in our apartment. Which would you recommend? Are there reasons to buy both? Thanks.Answers
A:Â
Wow, you’ve clearly done your research, because you’ve described them both perfectly! It’s kind of a tradeoff: parents adore the Peapod when they’re on the road because it’s so lightweight and portable. But if you think you’ll use the Baby Bjorn a lot at home as a playpen, and don’t mind the extra weight when you do travel, then you’ll get a ton of use out of it. You don’t really need to buy both, but if you decide on the Baby Bjorn, the Peapod is inexpensive enough that you could always add it into the mix later if you find you’ll be traveling more than you thought. Good luck with your decision. Hope this helps!Q:Â
