Rated 5 out of 5 Best Carrier out there! We have two Ergos and the Performance works the best for my hubby and kids. They all tend to run hot so the way the performance breathes is fantastic. We wear our 42lb son on our backs and its still comfortable although I'm not strong enough to have him there long. I do think that the organic Ergo worked better with the infant insert when our daughter was really little. We have used it and washed it for almost two years and it still looks great. A must buy. Rated 5 out of 5 by Use daily I did a lot of research before chosing this carrier and only this carrier. My little guy has always been heavy (18 lbs. at 5 months) and I'm always comfortable. I use it for hiking, long walks, grocery shopping, chores around the house. We purchased the newborn insert but only used it once. Instead, I use a rolled up handtowel under his butt so he sits high enough. I preferred the Moby when he was in the early weeks. March 21, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by The carrier to buy if you're going to buy only one LOVE the Ergo. I had a Bjorn which I used when my baby was <3 months old, but once he started to get heavy, I started to feel his weight on my back. The Ergo does distribute the weight very well. My boy is up to 18 lbs now and I can carry him for long distances/times without feeling it strain my back. The privacy hood is also very nice for when your baby falls asleep on you. The only cons of this product: the baby cannot forward face, they always face towards you. If your baby is an infant you have to buy the infant insert which is an additional cost. March 31, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for traveling We have used the Ergo for my son on several vacations. They have made the travel so much easier. On a recent trip to Paris, I was able to carry him around, keeping him close to me. When my son was tired, he feel asleep. We did not have to worry about the stroller and stairs. Moreover, in the airport, it was really helpful to have our hands free to carry the carseat, stroller, luggage, etc. Highly recommend it. March 15, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much better than our other carriers We also have a baby bjorn, and this is so much better. It is comfortable, doesn't break our back like the other. Our only complaint is that the baby can only face inward. Now that he is a little older he always wants to face outward. But you can adjust it to have the baby sit on your hip, which he really likes! I would save money and skip the infant insert. You won't use it very long and you can just swaddle a newborn and put him/her cuddled in sideways to do the trick. March 14, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable I gave this 4 stars for comfort for mom and baby. A little bulky and hard to get baby on back by yourself. Baby cannot face forward and I think when they are older they like to look at what's going on. It was a little complicated for me to figure out the hip carry position. March 11, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable Carrier Having recently had c-section, I was nervous about using a carrier that put any pressure on my stomach area. But this Ergo carrier works great, and is well-balanced. It is very easy to carry baby in carrier (he is still small, of course) - and the hip belt and shoulder straps provide great flexibility in adjustments. My only issue is that the infant insert (which is necessary for smaller babies) is quite warm. It is still chilly out, so ok for now, but if I had summer baby, I think it might be too warm for him. The Performance carrier promotes itself as breathable, etc, but with the infant insert, it feels too hot. March 11, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great carrier I think this is one of the best carriers on the market... good design and great support on your body. I was very selective about which carriers I purchased- and after seeing this one in use by fellow parents and having them attest to its quality and simplicity, my mind was made up about getting one. Waist dimensions?

Hello, I'm wondering how small the ERGObaby waist gets. We borrowed a friend's Beco carrier but it didn't work well because my waist and hips are too narrow. I'm hoping that this one will fit better.

The waist belt of ErgoBaby's Performance Carrier has a circumference range of 25" to 39", making this waist belt the most adjustable compared with other ErgoBaby models.
