Rated 4 out of 5 by Great on the back, hard to get on! I bought this because my delicate 9 month old baby weighs 25 pounds and is over 30". He had outgrown my Biorjn and I read that this is the only other carrier that allows the baby to face out. Pros: takes the excess weight of the back wear the baby five ways looks sleek and modern Cons: It's a bit cumbersome to get on and off It can be challenging to get the baby in March 30, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love it We really debated between this carrier and the Ergo. We wanted something that would work from infant onwards, but facing outwards was really important to us. We had no idea if our son would want to face out but we really liked the idea. Clearly we were onto something, he really only likes being in it if he can face outwards. It's really easy to use, provides good neck support for when infants aren't able to support themselves. Love the removable bib as he does drool all over it. Love that I can wash it. I only removed one star due to the hip support issue and that it does get pretty hot in there. March 20, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Versatile, High Quality I had the 2010 Cybex 2.Go that was recalled and I am so glad it was because the 2011 model is even better! Baby sits snugly in the carrier while mom or dad are super comfortable wearing it. My 20lb 9 month old daughter loves this carrier and i have zero back or shoulder issues when wearing it. It is so versatile the way it allows baby to face out but transforms with a quick unzip to provide decent hip support for when baby faces in. I do give it minus one star because I believe the Ergo still better supports the hips but this carrier is far more versatile. Allowing baby to face out sometimes can be such a lifesaver! It has excellent head support for great naps too. March 11, 2011

ways to carry

Q:
Does Cybex 2.Go come with the newborn/infant carry insert? I believe it allows the carrier to hold the baby flat.

Cybex's 2.Go Carrier may be used from newborn to age 3, and does not require (nor is one included or available), an infant insert. The carry position is not "flat" -- rather, 2.Go lets parents carry children in an upright, traditional front, or back-carry position with multiple ways to both carry baby, and distribute weight across the wearer's body. Q:
Hi,
The listed dimensions for the Cybex are 15" L X 4" X W X 22" H. Can someone please verify this?

Is 15" the seat width where the baby sits, when the zipper is fully closed? What about when the zipper is fully open?

Is the height 22" counting the waist belt, I assume? What about not including the waist belt?

I have seen a lot of improper use of baby carriers, ESP of the Boba and BabyHawk used w infants whose legs are not long enough to be in them. Then at the other extreme is the oft now maligned Bjorn that is very narrow and places much of the weight on the crotch and is not wide enough for upper leg support.

Please help -- the info will help me and other moms select the Cybex and other carriers based on the features as well as the proper fit for the growing baby at the particular stage of growth given the current height and leg (thigh) length of the baby!

The type of carrier to choose is largely a personal preference, should be based on a person’s carrying philosophy, and is best tried-on to ensure the best fit for both the wearer and the baby. giggle’s assortment caters to a range of carriers that are well-suited to several carrying philosophies, and a “good fit” is a top consideration when deciding whether to add a carrier to our edited assortment.

Cybex’s 2.Go Carrier is a giggle pick because it has a unique feature amongst carriers in our assortment that allows it to be multi-stage – the 2.GO carrier seat can be adjusted for optimal comfort for the baby. The width of the seat area can be adjusted to a wide seat with support under the thighs for a small baby, providing support to relieve pressure on the hips during the first couple of months. The seat area can also be reduced to allow carrying the baby facing forward and exploring the world. And, as if those two features aren’t enough, the 2.GO can also be adjusted to carry your baby on the hip and on the back.

Because of the great adjustability, the carrier’s dimensions are variable. Here we’ve listed what we think are the vital measurements to help parents decide whether this innovative carrier will be a good “pick” for them and their children:

-- 15" is the carrier body when the baby is forward facing; it is 19" when a baby is facing in.
-- 22" is the length from top to bottom, including the waist strap.
-- The child seat width ranges from approximately 8" (zipper closed), to15" (zipper fully opened).
-- The carrier measures 4” when it’s folded it in half with the straps tucked in, which is good for portability.
-- The parent waist-belt ranges from 20"- 60" OPENED from end to end.
-- The parent shoulder straps go from 24" - 49" - the 24"uses no extra strap, and consists of just the padded shoulder part.

We encourage our customers to visit their neighborhood giggle location to try-on carriers prior to making a decision, and to consult with a giggle expert on the carrier that’s right for your particular needs.
