Q:
Hi! I need some help selecting a toddler car seat for travel. I will be travelling abroad with a 2 yr old. Once at my destination, i will be travelling by taxi. I own an Xplory but will purchase a city mini for our trip (per your recommendation). What should I do about a car seat? My 2 yr old can no longer fit in an infant car seat carrier. Even if she did, she wouldnt be comfortable using it as a stroller. I definitely dont want to carry around her Britax advocate in addition to her stroller. I was looking at the orbit stroller with the toddler car seat but its too heavy and bulky for the plane and for in and out of taxis all day - same reason the xplory is staying home! What do you suggest? Thank you!Answers

Parents traveling with toddlers are definitely loaded down with gear -- a stroller, car seat, travel crib, PLUS your little one are a lot of loot to carry around! We agree that Baby Jogger's City Mini Stroller is a great pick for traveling -- lightweight, easy to fold, and super-comfy for tired travelers. But, it doesn't adapt to a toddler car seat.
In fact, stollers that carry toddler car seats are few and far between, and giggle's option for a toddler travel system is Orbit's G2 Stroller Frame + Orbit's Toddler Car Seat -- it's super-functional and gives your toddler car seat somewhere to "nest" so you don't have a car seat in-tow in a travel bag.
Both Baby Jogger's City Mini and Orbit's G2 Toddler Travel System will get you where you need to go -- you just need to decide which features (lightweight + a heavy car seat vs. travel system that carries the car seat) are most important during your travels!
Q:
Does this seat recline? What are the differences between the first and second model?
Answers
A:
giggle offers the most current version of Orbit's G2 Toddler Car Seat, and it boasts many parent and child friendly features, plus the most up-to-date safety features and technology which are essential considerations when selecting any car at every age-and-stage.Among the list of outstanding features is the extended forward-facing maximum weight range which is up to 65lbs; the super-comfy (and safe!) adjustable headrest; the hypoallergenic Oeko-Tex® 100 Standard textiles (chemical-free!); and it's still the only convertible car seat that rotates on the optional base for easy rear-facing installation AND that docks onto a stroller frame for the ultimate in portability.
While Orbit's Toddler Car Seat does not offer an adjustable "recline" feature, when it's installed with the included Side Impact Braces the car seat features two unique positions -- one position for rear-facing and one position for forward-facing installation. Rear-facing the car seat sits on a slight recline for ideal comfort and support for a child 15lbs to 35lbs; forward-facing the car seat sits upright which is a more optimal position for a toddler.

Q:
Does this seat click into a base in the car, like the infant seat? So could I purchase multiple bases for different cars and move the car seat around?Answers
A:
The Orbit Baby Toddler Car Seat clicks into the Orbit Baby Stroller Frame (just like the infant seat) to give you a complete travel system! This is the only toddler seat we know of that has the versatility of an infant seat, and it's perfect for families-on-the-go who value the convenience of having their toddler car seat do double-duty as their stroller seat.Orbit Baby's Toddler Car Seat installs both rear and forward-facing in the following ways:
Rear-facing installation, for children who are 15 to 35lbs:
--Use the Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat Base (not included with the Toddler Car Seat) that came with your Orbit Infant Car Seat, or purchase the base on its own.
OR
--Install the Toddler Car Seat with the included braces, ideal for families who are traveling and want to leave the base at home.
Forward-facing installation, for children who are 25 to 65lbs:
--Install the seat with the braces only, never with the Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat Base (it's for rear-facing installation only).
