Rated 4 out of 5 by Well-designed, well-liked bouncer Pros: - Well-designed and sturdy - Clean and crisp looking - Baby loves the bouncing motion - Fully reclines so when my baby falls asleep while bouncing, I can lay him down for a short (supervised) nap - Has a 5-point harness for safety Cons: - Like other Stokke products, it is on the pricier side and has pricey add-ons (e.g., $60 bouncer cover) - The handles for carrying the bouncer have velcro attachments which startle my sleeping son every time I try to open up the handles to move the bouncer somewhere. newborn use

Q:
if a newborn is swaddled for napping can he/she use this product? Seems the 5 point restraint wouldn't allow. Or is it removable?

A:
When you're using any product equipped with a 5-point harness (a harness with two straps over the shoulders, two straps across the thighs, and one strap in between the legs) it's recommended that your baby is unswaddled to get the fullest safety benefits of the harness.

And, if you want to keep your baby extra-cozy, consider a Bundle Me -- with lead-holes for a harness, your baby will stay cozy and safe!

Q:
How would you say this bouncer compares to the one from Baby Bjorn? The Baby Bjorn has so many positive reviews that I'm inclined to purchase that one, but I am considering the Stokke Day Bed, so this would be a natural choice. Thanks!

When choosing a bouncer we recommend considering purpose of use (a complement to another activity, or all-in-one choice?), space (how much room can you spare?), useful life (short-term, or multistage), and price (all the "bells and whistles", or entry level?).

BabyBjorn's Babysitter Balance Bouncer and Stokke's Bounce n' Sleep are both giggle "picks", and respond to the above considerations, and parent's specific needs, slightly differently. The following are key selling features that answer the above considerations to help narrow your decision:

--BabyBjorn's Babysitter Balance Bouncer is consistently a giggle customer favorite. With 3 seating positions (sleep, rest, play), it is also the most compact-folding (ideal for storing and traveling), multi-stage seat that offers the longest useful life -- it holds up to 29lbs!

--Stokke's Bounce n' Sleep Bouncer is an entirely new innovative modular bouncer/bassinet system with a focus on two products that do "double-duty" -- the bouncer and bassinet may be purchased and used together, or as two independent units. Bouncer offers 2 seating positions (sleep and play), soft carry handles for easy transportation, and a useful life of up to 20lbs (or 1 year old). Add Stokke's Bounce n' Sleep Daybed for a double-duty solution -- it lets parents safely elevate Bouncer, and solves for a bassinet.

A:
Two of giggle’s top considerations when choosing products for our edited assortment are a child’s safety and health, and we stand behind our commitment that every product we sell meets the highest standards available for that category.

Stokke's Bounce n' Sleep does not contain chemical flame retardants, and does not have a "CA TB117". The fabric/mattress is compliant with Oeko-Tex Standard 100, class 1, eco-certification, which guarantees that no harmful or toxic substances are used in the materials. It also meets and/or exceeds the following safety testing:

--EN1130-1996
--ASTM F2167-10
--AS/NZS 2172:2010
