I had intended to use the Boppy for breastfeeding, and then I discovered the simple design allows it to be much more versitile. We travel a lot, and here were some of the alt uses: a must have on the plane [so our baby could recline easily across a lap], as a support on the plane to help prop her up to sit, as recliner for our baby to sleep in when she was smaller [elevated her back and supported her neck], as a portable chair - especially when she was older, as neck support behind the couch when I was holding her over my shoulder, & over my legs when I'm reading or using the laptop. Our baby is 18 months old, and I still use it. The single reason to buy this over other products is: The simplicity of the design. It is much more versatile than a product that either goes around the back or has large detachable pillows and could never fit on a plane, in a travel bag, or on a rocking chair with arms. Also, there are a gazillion different slipcovers for it, so you don't have to become attached to something you think is tacky.

I got the Boppy while I was pregnant and figured it'd work just as well as any other nursing pillow-- not so much. My 7.5 pound newborn would slip down in the middle of it and it was really difficult to get him to latch correctly using it. We bought a Brest Friend and never looked back.
I hear the Boppy has other uses as he gets older, so hopefully we can get some use out of it then.

Rated 5 out of 5 Multifunctional
We used this for nursing, behind my neck, propping up baby to sit and multiple other functions. Others prefer my breast friend for nursing, but I liked how adjustable this pillow was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by emarsh not just for nursing!
i love my boppy - it was so helpful for nursing (esp at night when i was soo tired) & it let me be hands free while nursing so i could read or EAT :)
also great for putting baby in/ practicing tummy time/ helping them sit up/soft place to fall over on. while you shouldnt leave them unattended in the boppy, it is a comfy place to put them

Useful from day one. Helpful for nursing and great for when the baby is very young and has a hard time sleeping. With the boppy they can just nap on your lap!

I was given a Bare Naked Pillow when I had my 5th child last year. I had never used a nursing pillow in the past and had always used regular pillows or made do with whatever worked. When I tried this for the first time, I could not even conceive of how I had gotten by in the past. It was a life changer! This pillow is so well made and designed I think it made a huge difference with my breastfeeding experience this time around. My daughter is now 16 months, still breastfeeding, and we still use it! When she wants to breastfeed now, she will go get the pillow and bring it to me! I take it everywhere with me as well. In the car when traveling I bring it for baby, but use it as a cozy neck pillow to nap with as well!

I liked this alot for the first couple of weeks, when first getting the hang of positioning. But after that, I hardly used it until my son was just starting to sit on his own, then I used it as a support for him. It's probably worth it, even for the short time you use it.
