Rated 5 out of 5 by smileyeyes Workhorse from Toddler thru Elementary Years Yes, at first blush the price is quite high- but if you really break it down, this chair is SO WORTH IT. Our 4 year old started sitting in it two years ago, and loves it. Because of the adjustable height seat and footrest platforms, he can sit at the table with us at exactly the right height. He won't outgrow this seat anytime soon, because of this flexibility. Our 1.5 yr old is obsessed with this chair and no longer wants to sit in his highchair. He's even able to climb into this seat himself (because of that footrest). We love that this chair is made with sustainably harvested wood and painted with non-toxic paints in beautiful colors for parents like me who want great kid-friendly gear that still looks great with your adult decor! We have the dark espresso colored wood, which is understated and blends nicely with our dining furniture. October 5, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by AmandaS love love love I was super skeptical about this chair, but I am so glad we bought it. It is so nice to have my son at the table, instead of in some bulky chair off on his own. We tried a couple other seating options before settling on this (an ikea high chair, a hook on chair) and this one blows the others out of the water. - Easy to put together - My son seems super comfortable - Easy to clean - Looks good May 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Miles Grows with your kid We bought the Tripp Trapp and the newborn seat so that our son could eat from the begging on with us. He loves to sit in his chair. The next step will be the baby seat, when he can sit sturdy enough by himself. The chair has a very good quality and is easy to adjust. You buy it once and give it later to the next generation. The only minus in our opinion is the high price for the extras: newborn seat, then baby seat, cushions for the newborn seat or the baby seat, extra harness for the baby seat. But it's durability and high quality is worth it. April 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by EilK Best chair Not only a clean and attractive design, also a very stable and balanced chair. We also love that our daughter feels like she's at the table with us, rather then off to the side. May 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Yeeta Love this chair This chair has been the best baby gear purchase ever! This chair fits in perfectly with my living room and dining room decor. Its super sleek and modern. My daughter has been using this chair since she was 8 months old and i can see us using it for years to come. We also have the removable tray, which adds to its versatility. We can use the tray for meals, or remove the tray and pull her up to the table for family dinners. It's also really easy to clean. I always get compliments on this chair! December 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 6months+, easy to clean, easy to climb up This is the only high chair we both for him. He is 2years+ and he can climb up by himself but luckily cannot get out of it unlike other high chairs we get to try at restaurants and at our friends' houses. It's really easy to clean. Since it doesn't have a tray, he is virtually eating on the same dinner time as we do, which makes it easier to impose proper table ethics. December 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by CareerLadyMom Great Chair - Used at 7 months. Although the price may be a bit steep - this chair has been a fantastic purchase for our family. Our daughter enjoys it immensely, and it is very easy to get her in and out. She was able to sit in it and eat at about 7 months, and has been there ever since. October 28, 2012

Q:I have seen some reviews mention the tipping hazard and some online posts saying that the chair comes with leg extenders for stability. Is this correct or can you buy them?
A:When enjoying using their Stokke Tripp Trapp, like with any highchair, children should never be left unattended during use and the chairs should always be used as directed.
Because any chair frame under a tabletop makes it easier for kids to push their legs against the table and tilt backwards, Stokke's included two Extended Gliders that "click" onto the rear feet of Tripp Trapp's lower legs stabilizing it against backward movement.
Missing your Extended Gliders? Give Stokke a call at 1.877.978.6553 for help getting the right parts for your particular Tripp Trapp chair!
Q:how do you attach the top cushion on the chair? How to get the buckles through the holes?
Q:Hi, I was able to get a trip trapp chair from a friend who loved it, but it does not have a harness. I purchased the baby set and it has been working great until recently. My 1 year old son now tries to get up and stand and unfortunately can! I can't walk away from him for a second as I am scared he will stand and I won't make it to catch him. Where can I buy the harness they have on their website?
A:Stokke's current Tripp Trapp Chair sold in the U.S. comes with the 5-point harness included, and pre-installed for you on the chair. You may contact giggle's Customer Service Department for help getting in-touch with Stokke to order parts. They may be reached at email@example.com, or at 1-800-495-8577.
Q:hello, I am insterested in this chair, but I would be taking it back with me to Brazil, and I'm a little worried about the size of its packaging. Is it packed already fully assembled ? thank you so much
A:Stokke's Tripp Trapp is not fully assembled, and it's ingenious flat package is shaped like a right-triangle that takes-up very little space, making it great for traveling. The box's right side measures 34"; its perpendicular height measures 30"; its base measures 20"; and it's all of 3" thick. The box contains the following parts:
-- Two Z-shaped Sides
-- Two Seating Platforms
-- Two Seat Back Supports
-- Two Metal Support Bars
-- One Wood Support Bar
-- 1 Hardware Bag
Q:Can this high chair be used at counter height (with 7 month old+) or is it only to be used with a standard dining table height? Thanks - Kevin Sprague
A:The Tripp Trapp is designed to be used with a standard dining table between 28-30" high. It would be too short to work at a counter.
Have you checked out the Fresco Loft? With an adjustable height between 40-46 inches, this is a great solution for a parent that needs a highchair that will work with counters and breakfast bars!

Q:What is the correct location of the the clasp that holds the straps together in the back? the way we have put it on, it keeps irritating the neck of our baby.
A:The harness brace should be located below the neck, against the upper back of the baby. It is adjustable, so just slide the brace down closer to the buckles so it does not irritate their neck. Should you need more help, give us a call at 1.800.495.8577 and we will be happy to walk you through it!
I have an opportunity to use an old Tripp Trapp Chair. Will it be possible to purchase the new accessories for the old chair? Or has the model changed lately?
A:That is great! The Tripp Trapp cushions will work on any model. If you are looking to use the Baby Set, you will need to have a model from 2008 and later. If you are unsure how old your Tripp Trapp is, give us a call at 1.800.495.8577 and we will help you further!
Q:I really like this chair, in theory, but I'm concerned by a number of reviews I've read that described babies in the Tripp Trapp pushing away from the table to fall backwards, their heads hitting the floor behind them. I also saw a YouTube video demonstrating a baby's ability to push away from the table and fall backwards in the Tripp Trapp. I was curious if your product experts had any thoughts on this issue.
A:One of the reasons that we are fans of Stokke’s products is thanks to their commitment to internationally recognized production and safety standards for all of their products. As a highchair, the Tripp Trapp, must meet safety standard standards governing openings, harmful substances, stability, durability and more throughout the world. Today, the Stokke Tripp Trapp® complies with and exceeds the following standards:
- EN 14988:2006 Children's high chairs
- EU directive 2005/84/EC of 14 December 2005
- ASTM F 404-07 Standard Consumer Safety Specification for High Chairs
- Öko-Tex standard 100 for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production.
- In addition to these safety standards, the Stokke’s Tripp Trapp has been awarded the GS mark and is JPMA certified.
Like with any highchair, however, children should never be left unattended during use and the chairs should always be used as directed. A key issue for parents using the Tripp Trapp is to make sure that they adjust the chair’s settings to fit the child as they grow – which can make the difference of what leverage a child can use any part of a chair for pushing and unintended movements.
