Our daughter loves this chair. She climbs up in it and says "book, book, book". She'll sit and read in it for minutes at a time!

This is a beautiful, well-made chair. We have had ours for 3 years and it nearly looks as good as it did the day it arrived. It has stood up well to two kids who use it daily!

My 16 month old daugter loves this chair! She also loves playing with the removeable cushion! She can either sit deeper in the chair without the pillow cushion (the entire chair is still soft), or higher up with the pillow in place. My 5 year old son even finds it comfy! And it looks great too.

Hi we just bought this chair and already had an accident! I noticed the seat cover comes off -- is it machine washable? If so, what temperature? If not, how do you suggest I best clean? Thanks.

Monte's Cubino cover is machine washable -- simply remove the cover, and wash in cold water separately. For spots, use a damp cloth and a mild soap.

A:
The answer to both questions is ‘yes’. In order to adhere to law in the U.S. (Cal 117 specifically) the foam must meet a “flame test” – as a result foam suppliers must use flame retardants. However, the foam supplier for the Cubino chair does not use PBDE’s (otherwise known as “Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers” - a common, but increasingly considered an unfriendly retardant) as part of its manufacturing process in order to ensure a more “healthy” end result. Furthermore, the fabric on the Cubino chair is not “treated” with a 'scotch guard’ type of protector but is actually part of the manufacturing process for the fabric in order to again ensure the healthiest yet practical solution for a kids’ room.
