the crib is exactly what we were looking for. clean, modern lines. we like the painted finishes the best (we purchased white) because you don't see the layers of pressed wood that show through the wood stain in the wood colored options. i think it looks higher in quality in the painted finishes. this crib is solid! be aware that you can see silver bolts/nuts on the inside of the legs of the crib. it doesn't bother me but i was surprised by this detail. two mattress height positions which i find to be very helpful. you will need to remove the mattress though in order to adjust the height.

Love, love, love this crib! My husband and I bought the Oeuf Sparrow in Walnut back in May 2010. Our son, now 21 months old has been sleeping in it since he was 3 months old. (I kept him in a bassinet by our bed from birth-3 months for ease of night nursing) We have nothing negative to say about this product. It's a beautifully crafted piece of furniture. The quality of the wood is far superior to most other cribs that we've seen on display in other stores. I love the richness of the Walnut color. Although, a close friend of mine bought her son the Sparrow Crib in Birch and I have to say that I equally love that color. Here are some additional reasons we gave the Sparrow a 5-star rating:
-simple design
-high quality wood
-easy to assemble
-dent/scratch resistant
-very baby/toddler safe
-fits well in small rooms
If this is the style of crib that fits your needs, you will not be disappointed with purchasing this product!!

A year in and I still love looking at this crib every day. It was a bit of a splurge for us but I don't regret it at all. The walnut finish is beautiful and classic, and will be gorgeous for years to come. Even though my little guy has been teething, he has been kind enough to refrain from chewing on the bars. Good boy! We need to get the toddler bed conversion kit next.

I am confused. You say the Sparrow Crib is MDF-free and formaldehyde-free. However, I have read several places online that the Sparrow Crib uses MDF. If this is the case, then don't you mean that the Sparrow Crib is MDF-safe and formaldehyde-safe, rather than MDF-free and formaldehyde-free? If this is the case, that is a big distinction. Or are the other online sources wrong, and is this crib really MDF-free and formaldehyde-free? Also, what is the source of your information, as the Oeuf site does not say anything about MDF and the Sparrow?

Oeuf's eco-friendly Sparrow Crib is sustainably produced in Europe in an FSC certified facility under European environmental standards, and meets all European, US, Canadian and Australian standards for safety and emissions.Sparrow is made of solid birch and Baltic birch plywood, and its finishes are non-toxic, water-based and free of VOC health hazards. Sparrow also meets the toughest European (E1) and Californian emissions standards (CARB 1 and 2) for formaldehyde emissions.

Mattresses are not included with your crib purchase, so you'll want to choose a mattress that will provide the best, healthiest support for your baby's growing, developing body. The good news is that you can choose the mattress that meets all of your key considerations, which typically include size, firmness, SIDS safety, health and budget.giggle has a range of mattresses to choose from that keep all of these considerations in mind, but what's most important is that you build a safe sleep environment for your baby.

Oeuf's Sparrow Crib may be dressed with a crib skirt, which can be both practical and aesthetically appealing. The crib skirt is placed under the mattress, over a crib's mattress platform, and the skirting will "hide" both the mattress support and any visible hardware (or, anything you may be storing under the crib!), and create a lovely design.As your child grows, and you lower the mattress support, the crib skirt will lower with the support, and you may choose to gather and "tuck" under the mattress any additional length that may be skimming the floor.
