We have an alma crib we purchased about a year and a half ago- so my first question is whether this is the alma papa crib? or has the crib changed? I don't recall ours being called the "papa crib."
My second question is how does it work? We have been trying to figure out what to do next as our 17 month old is getting too big for the crib but we don't want to spend more on a toddler bed, but not sure if we want to jump to a full bed yet- especially as she likes to coziness of her crib.
A:Bloom's Alma Papa crib launched early March 2011. This new product is considered a specialty full-size crib, is rated for use from birth to age 4, and will convert to a toddler bed with the addition of the Alma Papa Toddler Rail. The Alma Mini crib is the unit you purchased a year-and-a-half ago, is rated for use from birth to age 2, and does not convert to a toddler bed.
An important consideration when choosing a child's next bed is that the bed offers safety and comfort that's age appropriate. You could transition your 17-month old into a specialty or standard full-size crib, a toddler bed, or a twin/full size bed. The decision is entirely up to you, and should be based on your child's development, and any pedicatrician recommendations.
