We have a cat and needed a safety gate to separate baby from cat food and water. Most gates are not attractive, difficult to install, or easy for baby to knock down. When we saw this gate, its stylish design and adaptable set up, we were sold. Yes, it's pricier than your average safety gate, but it's a perfect fit in most spaces and isn't an eyesore to look at. Yes, I would buy it again in a heartbeat. Plus, now that baby Iz is able to walk and navigate the gate, it's very sturdy when she slams it shut! A great gate!

When I am looking for baby products, I don't actually like trends. What I value is form meets function. Something that is good looking, easy to use and does its job well. I have been very impressed with Giggle's selection in this regard, and in the way they help users find what they need. This gate is no exception.
To start, the aluminum looks and feels good and has a nice weight, not at all cheap or flimsy. My daughter tries to hang on it all the time, and it has totally held up. It's easy to use and you can swing it shut, which is very helpful when you're holding a baby (or running after one.) We also really love that when not in use it can stay open in either direction and lays pretty flat against the wall.
The only potential downside for the super picky (like I was before I had little clothes..and toys..and food...everywhere) is that the gate's look is determined by the size of the opening you're fitting. On some of our doors the gate looks just like it does in the pictures: aluminum slats with open spaces. But, on some of our doors there are several grey spacer bars on the side that make it stick in to the doorway just a bit more, and/or the slats are out of sync--and have to be, to fit--so that it looks like a "solid" panel of aluminum in the center. I wish there were a picture of this somewhere...I've never seen one.
Still, the important part is that we like the look, feel and utility of these so well we've now added several in our house to create different areas our baby can access (or not.) And, a funny thing for a baby gate, we get compliments on them ALL THE TIME!
