Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 looks good, smells great! It really doesn't smell.... at all. I hadn't opened it for a few days and when I opened it I got a whiff, it was terrible, but the bright side was that when it was closed there was no indication that there was a pile of poopy diapers in the nursery! And it looks sleek, which I love. And it's super easy to use, and you don't need special bags, I want to buy one for my main floor now too! January 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 The best! Everyone teased me about needing this diaper pail. But, I read the reviews and knew that it was a good choice. My sister has three kids and she used a basic plastic pail and it was always smelly! Well, we've had our baby for two months now and this thing works! No matter what you put in here, you cannot smell it on the outside. It holds a bunch of dirty diapers and takes any regular garbage bag. Take my word for it and buy this diaper pail! January 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 Well worth it! We had no idea what to look for in a diaper pail (this being our first baby), but we were really impressed both with the look and function of the ubbi. Bottom line, it's great--I do still smell the diapers when it's opened (well, duh) but it totally contains them when it's closed. I agree with a previous reviewer in that when we're changing bags, it does hold on to a "lingering" smell (good use of words, lol). I thought it was bad until I went to my friend's house and realized I could smell their diaper genie from across the room! ewwww. Ours was still the clear winner in that when it's closed (90% of the time) there is zero smell. zero. Yes, it costs more, but it evens out with the other ones once you factor in that you are not dependent on the specific type of bag...so there's no panic that we will run out either. I do wish that ubbi made a stand or platform for it, though...as it is short and non-imposing, but I am a tall lady and I have to bend down sideways to open it (with my hand) and throw the diaper away...not easy with a squirmy baby. I found it to be WAY easier when I placed it on top of our diaper box, but that looks horrible (let's be honest--I paid $70 for a diaper pail and then put it on a cardboard box-ironic). My only regret? That I didn't buy HOT PINK! how fun is that?!?! But, we figure we will use it for a bathroom garbage can when we don't need it for a diaper pail anymore--it's certainly nice enough for that! December 13, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 Awesome for cloth and disposables I'm on my third child and my third diaper pail. Ubbi has been my favorite of the three for a few reasons. It does a fantastic job of keeping a room odor free! Having to buy specific bags gets expensive and inconvienient, the ubbi using regular garbage bags for disposables is awesome. For cloth I use a washable bag, and it fits the pail great. It holds a reasonable amount. I love the choice of colors and one of my favorite things is that I could decorate it with removeable vinyl to match my sons room. There is a small learning curve to find the best way to "roll" your diapers (especially with cloth) to fit the opening neatly but once you get the hang of it there is no issue. The ubbi pail does come at a premium price point but you get what you pay for and their customer service is top notch! December 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 small but effective We used a simple trash bin when our son was young, but once he moved onto solid foods we needed something more serious. This bin contains odors very well, but doesn't hold too many diapers at once. Being able to use supermarket grocery bags is a big plus. December 11, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 Modern, functional, but not perfect From the promotions and feedback about this product, I had really high expectations. I was looking to upgrade from my diaper genie because it was constantly smelly - even after being freshly cleaned. The Ubbi is definitely an upgrade. It keeps the smells inside (until it is opened), but there is definitely a leftover stink when emptied even though it has been billed as not harboring smells because it is made of metal (not plastic). I have tried cleaning it with many different things - soap and water, all purpose cleaner, vinegar, baking soda, bathroom cleaner, even cleaner for pet accidents that are supossed to neutralize the smell, and while there is nothing that gets it 100% stink free, it can be cleaned so that the smell is manageable. I like that I can use my own bags instead of having to buy a specific kind - that's a big money saver I would give this product more stars if there wasn't a strong lingering smell or if it was easier to clean. Bottom line - this is a good product, but does not do miracles. It does look great in my nursery though! December 11, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 Goodbye Diaper Genie! Finally! A modern and high-quality diaper pail. I LOVE this diaper pail. Heavy duty, and odor free! I have it in the grey, which adds a nice subtle touch of color in my son's room. I have to change the bag maybe once every 2 weeks..so it holds a lot of diapers! December 11, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 Great for cloth diapering, too! I was interested in this product, because after my son started eating solids, my wet bag was no longer holding in the smell of his diapers. A friend of mine recommended this product, and I was intrigued by the claims Ubbi made that their pail keeps all the smells in. I also liked that it was made of metal, so it did not retain odors like plastic pails do. My only concern with the product was that the hole might be too small for cloth diapers, but I found it not to be a problem. I was able to put my zippered wet bags in the Ubbi, too, though I did eventually end up buying a washable pail liner for convenience. This pail does indeed keep the smells in, though be warned: it is super stinky when you open it to wash the diapers. Also, you'll want to be fast when you open and close it to put in the diapers. The only down side I had for the pail was that it doesn't hold three to four days worth of diapers, like my hanging wet pails do. (Keep in mind, cloth diapers are larger than disposables.) I decided, though, after a short time, that this wasn't really a problem. Now that I have two kids in diapers, I have to do diaper laundry more often anyway. Overall, I highly recommend the Ubbi diaper pail for cloth diapering families. December 7, 2012

Q:
Dimensions of this listed are: 23" L x 11" H x 15" deep

However, from the photo I assume it's actually 23" high and not 11". Does that 23" include the small sliding handle that I see sticking out of the top? I'm trying to figure out if it will fit and can be operated in the space i have with 25" high clearance.

A:
Ubbi measures 23" H (inclduing the sliding handle) x 11" W x 15" D. With a 25" clearance you'll easily be able to operate the slide-top handle to dispose of diapers, but to change the liner you'll need to pull Ubbi out from under the shelf.
